Scholarships

Cost of Attendance (Undergraduate)
Cost of Attendance (Graduate)

The UCLA Financial Aid Office provides counseling and assistance in completing the financial aid application, evaluation, and determination of need. Counselors are available on an appointment basis.

The mission of the Financial Aid Office is to help remove financial barriers to assist students in meeting the rising cost of attendance at the institution. The role of the Financial Aid Office is to try to fill the gap that exists between the cost of attendance and funds available from your family, savings, and other resources.

Due to limited funds in some programs, we are not always able to offer enough aid to meet each student's financial need. However, alternative sources of assistance are available to students.

Scholarships administered by the UCLA Financial Aid Office are awarded to students based on academic merit and financial need.

Scholarship eligibility is highly competitive and is determined by evaluating the academic data provided by the Undergraduate Admissions Office and Registrar's office, financial data obtained from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and additional academic documentation, as required. For specific scholarship information, please visit both the UCLA Financial Aid Office website and the UCLA Center for Scholarships and Scholar Enrichment website.

The School of the Arts and Architecture offers scholarships to outstanding new students who demonstrate excellence in artistic performance and academic achievement (read more about the UC Regents Arts Scholarship below). Additional scholarships are available for new and continuing students at the departmental level.

Grants & Funding for Research Opportunities within the Arts

Open to incoming undergraduate freshmen and transfers only. Qualifying nominees must have at least a 4.0 grade point average (GPA) and be a current resident of the state of California.

After the applicant submits the UC application and either attends the audition or submits a portfolio to the respective visual or performing arts department, faculty will make recommendations based on academic achievement and artistic talent for this scholarship. The Regents Scholarship is renewable for up to four years.

Eligible undergraduate majors included in the School of the Arts and Architecture are:

  • Architectural Studies
  • Art
  • Design | Media Arts
  • Dance
  • World Arts and Cultures

Selected scholarship winners will be notified by the UCLA Scholarship Office of their status as a Regents Scholar.
